Registration Information Reminders
A player is considered NEW if they have never played with us OR they did not play the most previous season. In both cases I must do a full residency document and birth certificate re-check. If a player did not play in the most previous season, but has played in years prior to that, it is called a "Break in Service" and this triggers a re-check.
- For players aged 4-7, I only have to re-check their birth certificate because residency requirements are not in place for that age group.
- For players 8+, I must re-check both residency documents AND birth certificate.
New Player/Break in Service Player requirements:
For players 4-7, Registrar must view their original birth certificate
in person. They are flexible with timing and will try to accommodate everyone's schedules. You can reach out to schedule time by emailing:
[email protected]
For players 8+, I must check their original birth certificate in person as well. But I must also view residency documents OR a School Enrollment Form (residency docs and School Enrollment forms may be emailed to me).
School Enrollment Form : this form can be used to establish residency. It is filled out by the parent and signed by the player's School Administration. To use the School Enrollment Form, the player must have been attending the school prior to October 1st of the current academic school year.
OR
Parents can prove residency by following the
Little League Residency Eligibility Checklist. This document guides parents through providing me with three documents, one from each of three Groups of types of documents. Documents provided must be dated or in force between February 1st of the previous year and February 1 of the current year. So in Little League date ranges for this season, that means February 1, 2025 to February 1, 2026.
Player Waivers: If a player aged 8+ lives outside of our boundaries and would like to play at DPLL, they need to apply for a Waiver. That is done through me, Jami, and Patty. If you know of someone in this situation, just have them email me and I can get them started. Player Waivers carry over year to year as long as there is no break in service.
Challengers players only: I only will check a birth certificate for NEW players (including Break in Service). Because residency requirements do not apply (since we are the only Little League around that offers this division). HOWEVER, if a Challengers player ever wanted to transition their play to Tee Ball thru Juniors, I would need to verify residency documents even if there has been no Break in Service.
For all players who DID play in the most recent season, they are considered Returning and have zero documents to upload, no birth certificates to show me. Their registration is marked as completed as soon as I verify via our registration software that they did in fact play in the most recent season.
